I removed it and cleaned it up.  Painted the outside with epoxy paint.

 

The O-Ring is a food-grade Silicone item that I got on Amazon: X AUTOHAUX Silicone O-Rings 85mm OD 77mm ID 4mm Width, White 2Pcs

 

This is the Taco plate removed and painted and with the new silicone O-Ring and paper gasket.

The sender was replaced when I got odd readings.  Did that during the first oil change at 500 miles.
