▪Guards Red over pearl white from Porsche 944.

▪Car was DA'd down and doors from the 74' were used because the rubber seal channels were in great shape and the 75' had mostly rotted-out rubber seal channels.

 

I received the car painted with Martin Seymour #53 (Acrylic one stage) in Guards Red.  Upgrade on repaint was done.

 

NOTE ABOUT RATTLE CANS AND PAINT:

Always follow these instructions:

a.Wash with Dawn Power spray and a scotch-pad first.  NEVER sand the grease into the paint.

b.Sand with 180-220 and then 350 grit

c.Wash it again with Dawn

d.Wear gloves because oil from your skin will ruin the paint adhesion.

e.Clean with Acetone or Alcohol and ALWAYS LET IT FLASH-OFF FOR 15-20 MINUTES BEFORE PAINTING

 

 

A little rain got it after the paint was dry, but it is really RED!

 

 

Shine-On!  The rear trunk replacement panel looks quite stock.

 

Left the floor tub in black with POR15, but they painted the floor cross-member RED in case it peeks through the vinyl coverings and carpet.  Door jambs look fantastic"

 

Front trunk was well taped off and the vents were all loosened to get the paint down.

Doors from the 74'  On the left you can see the nice side-view mirror mount holes that were repaired with 1/2 of a Panel Riv-Nut to create a barrel nut to weld inside the door.  Aftermarket mirror sheet-metal holes were welded shut and prepped well.  Bottom of door is like-new clean.
