This is the back of the airbox so that you can see how the cable was hooked-on before flipping it 180 degrees to put it back in the car.  It was all polished-up with BRASSO (an fine idea found on 914.com).

 

Notice the wiper motor is in and the harness is re-wrapped with cloth tape (helps to quiet minor rattles).b

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The plastic air inlet box in the front trunk came out for painting.  Some pictures of the cable and connector follow:
